A Whole Year Has Passed...

He's nearly ONE.
A whole year has passed since I bought my wedding dress for the wedding that would have been 10 weeks to go.
A whole year has passed since we had our new carpets in our house to make it a homely place.
A whole year has passed since we used to sit down every night and watch tele in peace.
A whole year has passed since we could eat dinner , hot, when it was ready.
A whole year has passed since it was just us 2.
A whole year has passed since I was in early labour wondering when it would happen and waiting for our little chunkster to come out into the world and meet us.
What a year!
Next week he turns a whole 1.
It is the single most scary thing that has happened to me-this year.

Living With A Poorly Boy.

The hubby suffers badly from Chest Infections, all the time. Whenever he is ill, he has man flu, and he's "dying". He can be so dramatic...His first ever chest infection was when he was only 10 months old...
Harry is 10 months old, and had a chest infection this month..
He came down with a snuffle, went off of his food, wouldn't drink, wouldn't have bottle or wouldn't sleep..
So we took him to the, very helpful(Y), doctors to be told "it's just a cold, he'll be fine in 4 days time!".
That night he didn't sleep, he couldn't settle, couldn't do anything for him. So at 6am, we were up A&E, asking the same... being told " "it's just a cold, he'll be fine in 4 days time!".
This time, I still wasn't happy, as my boy wasn't my Harry. But we had two voices tell me so I let it be.
Less than 24 hours later, he was laying on his Grandad, not moving, just laying there watching the world go around. Anybody who knows Harry knows this isn't him. He hasn't been this still in ages. He doesn't like cuddles, and he wants to be off exploring...Not this day.
So we then tried to feed him again, it came back up seconds later; after him choking, turning purple and then screaming in crying.
The rest was a blur; we shot him straight up A&E, again..this time they took him straight round to resus. Gave him a nebuliser with steroids, gave him blood tests, weight checks, drips. Everything. It was all so scary.
They hadn't even blinked at him the day before, yet,we were here...
We got told we weren't going home that night, so we got ourselves comfortable.
That was probably the longest night I've ever had of being a mummy.
The panic going through my head. I had no phone, as it run out of charge, no hubby, as he got sent home (only one parent can stay), no food, no drink, no cuddles and no sense in my head as to what had just happened.
We went through a long long 26 hours in hospital from steroids, nebulisers to then being allowed out with antibiotics and Calpol.
Two days later, he was back to the Harry that we knew for the past 10 months..
It was so scary, but so lovely to have him back.
I can't fault the help we got the second time we went in, but what would have happened if they could have just looked at him a bit more thorough at the doctors?!
I know we will be expecting more Chest Infections, but I hope they don't all end up being Croup + Viral & Chest Infection! ....Hate my boys being ill. x

The Park

We are so lucky where we live. Opposite the primary school and nursery, and literally a house distance away from a beautiful big park, with a little play area for the kiddywinks too.
We took both dogs and harry to the park the other day when the hubby was at work, just for a little hour away from the house.
It was the first time I took both dogs of the leads, but I had a little helper who held the leads for me and kept throwing them on the floor, apparently helping me :D.
I love where we live, and I love my little family. xx

Confidence

Since being a working mum now, I try and take Harry out atleast once a day together, if it's a toddler group, if it's to see a friend or just a walk in the park. I love taking him out, and it's so nice to see him enjoy himself.
He is so easily amused, even when we walk past a bush and the wind blows the leaves in his face he is in fits of giggles.
He is getting so much more active and  independant it's so nice to sit down and have a nice chat with someone while I can just let him enjoy himself, playing with all the toys.

Harry & His Friends

It is so lovely to see the friends that Harry has made, by growing up. He has so much happiness with them all, even if it's the first time they've met, after 10 mins he's his normal self, laughing, bubbling, shouting, walking around things.
I can't wait until he can run around with them all, and then the days will be mentally long!! :D

Born on the same day..:D

10 Whole Months.

Harry is now a whole 10 months old. How quick has that time gone, I really cannot tell you.
I was pregnant for 10 whole months!! That seemed to be foreverrrr. Felt like a whole year, if not more.. (fell pregnant on 15th Jan, had him 16th Oct 2 weeks overdue).
But having him here in the world for 10 months, feels like it's been two months at the most.
We have learnt so much from having a baby, to then a baby that can sit up, and then learnt to crawl, and now we are walking everywhere around holding onto a walker, on the sofa, climbing absolutely everything possible, climbing out the highchair, out the buggy, onto the windledge, up the stairs. I have eyes in the back of my head, and those cheeky smiles you get when you ask "What are you doing?" just make my heart melt.
I've been waiting so long for him to be 'on the move', for him to not need me next to him to move him...now if i move around somewhere to do something, i'm trying to hunt him down for the next 5 minutes of where he has disappeared too.
I've never been a regular to go to all the toddler groups, as much as I would like to, work never worked around the right times; but now Summer has arrived, there is alot more happening in the afternoons, so we are attending them a lot more frequently and Harry is loving them.
He absolutely loves spending time with other children, he seems to just love socialising, and so do I :).

2 more months until my baby won't be a baby anymore though, he'll be a 1 year old!!
I am scared for that day he turns 1..
I've already started planning, but it's taking time! Presents, all the cakes, the people, the decorations....here we go with the planning again :) ..

Life.

without my baby boy;
tomorrow wouldn't be worth the wait,
and yesterday wouldn't be worth remembering.

Some days can be tough, some days can be great.
Some days you can't wait for them to start, and some of them you want bedtime 10 minutes after waking up.
Some days you can't stop laughing, and some days you can't get that smile out.

It's amazing how much life changes, this time 2 years ago, I was just a girlfriend, staying at my boyfriends house occasionally, trying to spend everyday possible with him, trying to get days off work to spend time with him; not realising 2 years later, we'd be in our own house, with our own baby being a married couple.

I wouldn't change it for the world :D.

life is better when you're laughing.

the happiest people don't have the best of everything,
they just make the best of everything.

The Toddler Bed x

The baby is growing out of the baby stage now.
Not an hour goes past that we don't get a whinge if he's not standing up. He loves nothing more than to be on his feet, trying to walk.

A couple of times he has managed 3 steps at a time, and then a bump on the bottom to the landing on the floor, and the look as if to say "why did that happen Mummy?".

He is getting amazingly clever, and climbing everything! He doesn't stay still anymore either.

He managed to put his leg over the side of his cot, (when it was on the bottom setting), so we have now got him in a toddler bed.

Alot earlier than we had hoped, I was atleast hoping until he was walking, and if not about 18 months at a push!! 9 months old, was a lot earlier than I had imagined, but I never thought he would be following his father's footsteps, as he was 10 months, and perfected climbing out the cot and managed to open stair gates! Fortunately, he hasn't managed to figure out the stair gate (Mitch & I are still trying to work it ourselves!)

Having him in the toddler bed has gone execptionally well anyway.

We haven't had any moments of falling out the bed, any trying to climb out or anything. He sleeps so well in his bed, it is so cute going in to check on him, and he's head it the opposite side to the pillow, or he's all curled up in a ball hugging his teddies.
He hasn't once tried to get out, and every morning we hear a "Daaaaddd" come from his bedroom, and he's sitting on his bed being as happy and excitable as possible waiting for one of us to come and pick him up.
For now, it is one of the best desicions I ever done for him :) .

Catching Up With The Milestones.

I haven't been on for so long to update the new bits of the life I am living at the moment.
We have had so many new milestones recently.
Some days are difficult, some days are fun, some days you just want to curl up in your bed covers and some days you can't wait for the baby to wake up and to start the day.
Being a mummy is such an amazing thing, two days are never ever the same.

So, the baby is now crawling. He learnt to commando crawl, and he mastered that so well he is now crawling "properly". Very fast too.

He has also learnt to pull himself up. Which is the absolutely cutest thing I have ever seen. He pulls himself up on doors, sofas, draws, stairs, gates, chairs, anything possible that he could hold on to. It is funny how much he loves being on his feet and tries his hardest to stand up on everything.

He walks along the sofas, he walks along cabinets, he likes putting toys in the dvd and video player, he also likes wacking the fish tank as if to say "hello, how are you?".

He has learnt to pull himself up in his cot. He has managed to also grab his toys from the outside of his cot, and pull them in, so he can now climb his cot!! So we are trying to invest in a toddler bed!

He is babbling away so much these days, he is so vocal. He shouts to "Dad" and he shouts "eyaaa"   he has also said "LLoooo" to mean hello.
He waves goodbye to people now too.

He is such a cheeky monster, every day is such a new experience with him.

We have had such lovely weather recently too, and it's been lovely just to play in paddling pools and go for a run or go for a walk to the park. :) Welcome summer!!!

I promise I will be on here so much more often now, & I am sorry for the delay!!

Mummy & Baby

When people look for pictures, they always wait for the pictures of the baby.
They see pictures of baby, baby with daddy, cousins, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles.
Hardly ever do you see photo's of mummy & baby.
I thought I would just put down the ones I have of me and little man.

The Christening,2-6-13

Last Sunday we had the Christening. The thing we've had to plan for a while now. We had so much to plan last year, so this year this was the first main event we had to plan and organise for; and without being big headed, it went so well.
We had the hubby's grandparents down from Nottingham, to help us set up and get ready as well as come down for the day.
The week before it rained, we had a storm, we had the windiest weather, it was so cold I was intending on wearing a maxi dress so I wouldn't be too cold.
Sunday 2nd June came, it was the warmest most beautiful day, the day we had hoped for. (I did change the dress!!)
Harry was so amazingly well behaved, he made everyone laugh in the Church as he thought it'd be a good time to start trying to talk to everyone, he tried to take the water off of his head, and at the end he tried to give the Christening candle back to the vicar.
We had everyone back to our garden after, and it all went so well, nothing went wrong which was amazing.
I don't think we've ever had that many people over in the year that we have lived here.
The day was so perfect & we have just had the photo's back too...Have a look through :D
